Set in a background artiste's agency representing such acting talents as 'Dirk van Dyke' ("He could be the next Dick you know"), Alfred Leach (played by Chester's town crier David Mitchell) desperately tries to make ends meet. His acts are talentless and useless and he is forever telling fanciful tales just to get them any old auditions. Nothing changes when Mary (played by Kerry Predergast) walks in to try her luck as an extra. Hilarity unfolds as Jessica (played by Katy Durdant-Hollamby), Enid (played by Joy Lancaster) and Walter (played by Mark Dos) put Mary through her paces and she if she really has what it takes to be a background artiste. Little does she know that she is playing her part in a performance already.
This play was the first performance by the Adult Group and had the audience in stitches. An all round success.
