Enter a world where witches are real, they’re all around us and are busy hatching fiendish plots to eradicate the world’s children. Just one unlikely boy and his loving Grandmamma can stand in their way.
Based on Roald Dahls best-selling book, the tale’s twisted magic and mystery was recaptured for stage in the early 90’s. A story that impresses, teaches and awakens the inner child in all of us. So be prepared to witness the wonder and magic of Dahl’s world on the stage. When looking back on the production process of ‘The Witches’; from start to finish, the cast put a phenomenal effort into the show as well as shed loads of hard work by the crew. It was a long, tough and immensely rewarding couple of months and a real eye-opener for me as a director. There were numerous highlights for me; many aspects of the performance went through several conceptualizations, in order to do the cast and source material justice. trust me, magic and mice are a bit of a logistical nightmare on stage. I was also overjoyed by the casts performances, the script was demanding and they all rose to the challenge and gave the piece an energy beyond my anticipations. When it came down to the crunch, the cast really stepped forward in their ability, I’m very much looking forward to seeing how these guys continue to grow and wow us in future shows!
